Bryce Dessner's Symphony for cello and orchestra Trembling Earth will have its World Premiere performance in Dublin on November 7, when André de Ridder will conduct the National Symphony Orchestra and soloist Anastasia Kobekina. This new work will then be performed internationally by the Czech Philharmonic, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Konzerthaus Berlin and the Philharmonia Orchestra supported by the Borletti-Buitoni Trust.
November 7 also marks the release of Gaia in which star cellist Gautier Capuçon’s cello becomes the voice of the Earth in an inspired album of world premiere recordings. Bryce Dessner contributes two kindred pieces, “Towards the Light” and “Towards the Forest”, alongside works by Ludovico Einaudi, Missy Mazzoli, Nico Muhly and many more.
