Composer, guitarist and two-time Grammy winner Bryce Dessner brings his distinctive musical voice to a powerful collaboration with the Sydney Symphony.
On September 19 and 20 Umberto Clerici conducts a programme including the Australian premiere of Trembling Earth for cello and orchestra which was commissioned by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra thanks to the generous support of Paolo Hooke and Fan Guo, together with the National Concert Hall, Dublin, the Czech Philharmonic, the Borletti-Buitoni Trust, Konzerthaus Berlin, and the Philharmonia Orchestra.
The concert also includes Dessner's Kerouac-inspired St Carolyn by the Sea in which Dessner will perform as soloist alongside fellow guitarist Zane Banks.

On September 24 (Sydney) and 25 (Melbourne) Dessner joins members of the orchestra in a programme of chamber music in which he will perform his solo guitar piece Garcia Counterpoint. Other works include Aheym, Lachrimae and extracts from his award-winning score to the film Train Dreams.
