On August 27 and 28, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra opens the new season with their designated chief conductor Tabita Berglund. The concert program includes the world premiere performance of Ørjan Matre’s Still, what remains … for percussion, played by Hans-Kristian Kjos Sørensen, and orchestra. The two parts of the percussion concerto where composed in times, that couldn’t be more different. Part one was written in 2019, one year before the Covid 19 pandemic and presents a music that is virtuous, playful, and extroverted. The second part was created in spring 2021, when the society began to reopen and recover from the experiences of the pandemic, which reflects in a softer, more deliberated and open tone.

The recording is from a performance from January 2022, where the Concerto was performed once in a concert without any audience.

The upcoming world premiere to audience is part of Matre’s residency with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra.
