On June 19, cellist Anastasia Kobekina and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin conducted by Iván Fischer will perform the German premiere of Bryce Dessner's cello concerto, Trembling Earth. The piece was written for Kobekina who also performed the world premiere in Dublin in November 2025.

Trembling Earth is praised for its driving rhythms and episodic structure that change the mood abruptly and give the cello concerto its distinct character.

"Dessner’s symphonic poem Trembling Earth offered an evocative inner vision of the transformations of the landscape and human life within it.”
- Richard Hruban, Novinky

The day before, Dessner will feature at his portrait concert, Bryce Dessner’s Universe, talking about his approach to music and his compositional inspirations. He will be joined by his sister - artist and poet Jessica Dessner - who he dedicated the cello concerto to. Anastasia Kobekina will perform several of his works, including the German premiere of The Forest. Sederunt principes – Perotin for cello ensemble supported by members of the Konzerthausorchester, as well as the works for cello solo Tuusula and Song for Ainola.
