Chamber Philharmonic Potsdam presents the German premiere of Sebastian Fagerlund’s Chamber Symphony on June 3 at the Berlin Philharmonie.
Commissioned by Tapiola Sinfonietta as part of his residency in the 2021/2022 season and National Arts Center Orchestra, conductor John Storgårds is now bringing the Chamber Symphony to Germany.
In this composition, Fagerlund is interested in a slow, almost imperceptible transformation, in which the music begins to grow out of a state of stillness, forming new relationships between the fundamental materials – in the composer’s own words: “like musical components floating in a new order and rearranging themselves.”
The premiere performance is followed by a subsequent performance on June 5 in Potsdam.
