On November 12, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra present the Norwegian premiere of Sebastian Fagerlund’s Clarinet Concerto No. 2 which they co-commissioned with Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. The soloist is Christoffer Sundqvist, for whom Fagerlund has written the concerto.
Fagerlund and Sundqvist have been connected for over 20 years through a musical partnership that resulted in various works of all different forms, e.g. the first Clarinet Concerto in 2006, the piano trio Fuel in 2010 or Octet ‘Autum Equinox’ in 2016. The music of this latest addition to the collaboration conveys ‘the joy and inspiration that has been present in our many collaborations’, Fagerlund says.
The concert at the Concert Hall Fartein Valen in Stavanger will be conducted by Emilia Hoving.
