From December 10 to 15, close up – lontano 3. make the secrets productive by Manos Tsangaris receives its world premiere at museum Kolumba in Cologne by Ensemble hand werk and soprano Friederike Kühl. The performative work for ensemble was written and staged for the architecture and unique atmosphere of Kolumba – museum of the archdiocese Cologne and invites small audience groups to explore Tsangaris music on different stations throughout the building.

The work reflects the main idea of music that can be experienced from the near (close up) and the far (it. lontano) which Tsangaris explains like this “The work deals with the presence of human beings, the dance of events, and what one hears and sees from near and far.”

close Up – lontano 3. make the secrets productive was created following the awarding of the Musikpreis der Kunststiftung NRW – Mauricio Kagel Musikpreis to Manos Tsangaris in 2024.
