Hans Abrahamsen has been appointed composer-in-residence with Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra for the 2025-2026 season, serving as one of three focus composers alongside Hector Berlioz and Lili Boulanger.

Under the direction of chief conductor Nicholas Collon, the season will offer a wide-ranging introduction to Abrahamsen’s music, from chamber pieces and orchestrations, to full orchestral works, with several works to be recorded for later release.

The residency begins on September 3-4, 2025 with Abrahamsen's orchestration of Debussy's Children’s Corner, followed by the song cycle Let me tell you on October 24, with soprano Jacquelyn Stucker as soloist. That evening also includes a late-night concert featuring Six Pieces for French horn, violin, and piano.

In 2026, the orchestra performs Vers le silence on January 14–15 and String Quartet No. 3 on April 17. The season concludes with Abrahamsen’s Concerto for Horn and Orchestra, performed by Stefan Dohr in the orchestra’s final concert of the season in May.
