Bryce Dessner will be Composer in Residence at Konzerthaus Berlin for the upcoming 2025/26 season. A total of eight concerts and events will showcase his music, ranging from string quartets to expansive orchestral works, including several German premieres.
The season opens with the performance of Dessner’s Piano Concerto, written for and performed by Alice Sara Ott, who is this season’s Artist in Residence. The concert, conducted by Joana Mallwitz, will be streamed live in two open-air cinemas across Berlin.
Later in the season, Pekka Kuusisto will perform the Violin Concerto, another major work for orchestra and soloist.
The season will conclude with the German premiere of Trembling Earth, a symphony for cello and orchestra, featuring cellist Anastasia Kobekina under the baton of Iván Fischer.
Throughout the season, audiences will have the opportunity to experience Bryce Dessner’s distinctive musical language, exploring his diverse compositional styles and orchestrations across a variety of concert formats.
