Programme Note
‘Picture my Face’ takes the Lied No.1 from the opera Lash – Acts of Love as a point of departure. Removed from the third act spatial collage, it is completely re-worked and extended. The text, like Lash – Acts of Love, is based on a chapter of A Primer for Cadavers by Ed Atkins, with whom I wrote the libretto. (Rebecca Saunders)
