Michael Nyman has been appointed 'Composer in Residence' at the Badisches Stadtstheater, Karlsruhe. To mark the start of this three-year residency he is currently revising his opera Facing Goya which will receive eight performances from 19th October 2002. Man and Boy: Dada, a new opera based on the German Dadaist painter and sculptor Kurt Schwitters' search for the perfect London bus ticket, with a libretto by Michael Hastings will be second opera of the residency.
