As part of their recently announced 2027 season, internationally acclaimed composer Nico Muhly joins the Omega Ensemble to curate a radical new series of musical innovation, presented in Sydney’s Carriageworks, one Australia’s most important creative industry hubs. Muhly brings together a program of concerts that connects Australian composers such as CoLAB alumni Alex Turley and Angus Davison, placing their music alongside international voices including Bryce Dessner, and others to be announced. Muhly offers a deeply personal perspective on how this music is made and what makes it worth hearing, inviting audiences to ponder the future of chamber music.
On his appointment as curator, Muhly says “I’m so looking forward to being back in Australia to work with Omega Ensemble. The inaugural Future Pulse concert is an exciting new series I can’t wait for audiences to experience!
