As part of the summer festival “Up to Three”, Immer/Never by Elena Mendoza will receive its world premiere performance by Ensemble Mosaik on July 05 at Acker Stadt Palast, Berlin.

The woodwind trio for bass flute, bass clarinet and tenor saxophone brings together language and instrumental sound in a variety of ways, with each instrumentalist speaking a different language (German, English and Spanish). As well as playing their instruments, the musicians recite dates of historical agreements since 1945, such as the Montreal Protocol on the Protection of the Ozone Layer or the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Mendoza says: "These texts are to be understood neither as affirmative nor as negative; rather, they point to the Sisyphean nature of human understanding and serve as a reminder that, despite everything, this utopia is still worth striving for."
