On April 24, Spanish Plural Ensemble premieres Tribute by Fabián Panisello in Madrid. As the name suggests, Tribute unites three stand-alone homage pieces that are dedicated to three major figures of the musical world:
L’âge de raison pays tribute to Italian composer Ivan Fedele, Hommage is dedicated to pianist Paloma O’Shea and Bells was composed in memoriam composer & conductor Peter Eötvös.
While the first and second part musically explore the names and date of births of the honorees, the third part Bells brings together diverse materials from Japanese bonshō bells to an anonymous ancient Armenian lament, representing Eötvös’ own voice.
