From October 31 to November 24, Deutsche Oper Berlin invites children and adults to meet the Octopus Lady (Tintenfischlady), and to overcome fears with her.

Composer Sidney Corbett and his daughter, librettist Chiara Corbett created a children’s opera about sibling relationships, childhood fears and the fact that we can overcome those together, no matter if you’re a child or an adult.
Tintenfischlady is a commission by Deutsche Oper Berlin as an addition to their series of new musical theatre works for children and young people. Director Lara Yilmaz and dramaturg Flavia Wolfgramm created a wonderful and well thought production for their youngest audience. On stage Evelina Smolina, Lana Maletíc and Felix Che Groll bring the story about Elli and the Octpus Lady to life and are joined by musicians from the orchestra of Deutsche Oper Berlin, led by Leonard Martynhek.
