Jonathan Dove's family friendly operas are loved and celebrated worldwide by audiences of all ages. Next week sees performances of two of them, including a territory premiere.
On June 1, The Adventures of Pinocchio, be performed in Poland for the first time, with the brand new Polish translation of Alasdair Middleton's libretto. The two act opera will be performed by Opera Łodz at Teatr Wielki w Łodzi, with Musical Direction by Rafal Janiak and direction by Robert Drobniuch. There will be several performances over the course of 10 days, with further performances coming in 2026.

In London, Dove's science-thriller Itch returns to Opera Holland Park on June 3, following Stephen Barlow’s “gorgeous” (The Independent) production of the world premiere in 2023. Also with a libretto by Alasdair Middleton, adapted from Simon Mayo’s best-selling novels Itch and Itch Rocks, the opera was commissioned by James Clutton for Opera Holland Park for 2023. The production has five performances, closing on June 13.
