The celebrated partnership between Joby Talbot and choreographer Christopher Wheeldon has resulted in 5 contrasting and individual works for the stage. Fool’s Paradise, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Winter’s Tale, Tide Harmonic and Like Water for Chocolate. Three of which are full length ballets commissioned by The Royal Ballet Covent Garden in partnership with The National Ballet of Canada and American Ballet Theatre (Like Water for Chocolate).

Chester Music is delighted that their fourth evening length ballet is currently cooking with celebrated national company The Australian Ballet. Oscar© – a new ballet inspired by the life and writings of Oscar Wilde will receive its world premiere in Melbourne on September 13 2024. Designed by Jean-Marc Puissant this story of an infamous dandy and his tales will be a sensational addition to The Australian Ballet repertoire which already includes Talbot and Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, which is back in rep. from February 20.

Alice can also be seen in Toronto from March 6 and in Munich with Bayerisches Staatsballett from March 3.

The Winter’s Tale, Shakespeare’s profound story of love and loss, artfully staged by Wheeldon with music of extreme beauty from Talbot and sumptuous design by Bob Crowley returns to The Bolshoi Ballet from March and to The Royal Ballet from May 3.
