The world premiere of harpsichord concerto Sei Anime by Bent Sørensen, will take place March 10, 2022 with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and Mahan Esfahani, under the direction of Andris Poga.
The concert is presented in collaboration with Borealis festival.
Sei Anime is dedicated to Mahan Esfahani and commissioned by Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Odense Symphony Orchestra and City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
The concerto's six movements form the traces of a French Suite, as we know it from i.a. Bach's wonderful harpsichord suites, a major source of inspiration for this work. However, Sei Anime constantly steps out of the Baroque Suite’s footsteps.

The Danish and UK premieres follow soon after. The Danish premiere with Odense Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Simon Gaudenz will take place April 22, 2022 and the UK premiere with City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ludovic Morlot, April 28, 2022.
