Volans signs exclusive publishing agreement

Kevin Volans, one of the truly original musical voices of the 21st century, has signed an exclusive publishing agreement with Chester Music. Volans’ work has been performed in major festivals and venues around the world, some of the more recent being the Berliner Festwoche, the Salzburger Festspiele, Vienna State Opera, the Lincoln Center, New York, the Pompidou Centre, Paris and the BBC Proms. Recent commissions have included a piano concerto for Marc-Andre Hamelin and the San Francisco Symphony (under Michael Tilson Thomas), and new quartets for Kronos, the Smith Quartet and the Vanburgh Quartet. His triple ensemble piece for BCMG is presented at exhibitions of works by the artist, Juergen Partenheimer at the IKON Gallery, Birmingham, and the Kunstmuseum, Bonn. All of Volans’ composition from the last seven years will now be published by Chester Music alongside the earlier works already published by the company.
