The Passing of the Year (version for double choir and orchestra) (2026)

This new orchestration was commissioned by the London Symphony Chorus (LSC), with the generous support of LSC Friends, to celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2026. The world premiere was given by the LSC with the London Mozart Players, conducted by Mariana Rosas, the LSC’s Chorus Director, at Milton Court Concert Hall, London, on 23 May 2026. The original version for double chorus and piano was commissioned by the LSC in 2000. Its world premiere was given by the LSC and Stephen Betteridge (piano), conducted by Stephen Westrop, the LSC’s then Chorus Director, at the Barbican Hall, London, on 18 March 2000.
