Two Latin Carols for SSA
Both these little carols use anonymous mediaeval ‘macaronic’ texts - words both in Latin and English . Misterium Mirabile was composed for the choir of Norwich High School for Girls; Rosa sine spina was composed for the vocal trio ‘juice’ and is dedicated ‘to Kerry, Sarah and Anna’. It is suited to either solo or choral voices.
Misterium Mirabile
Of a rose sing we
Misterium Mirabile (refrain)
This rose is red of colour bright
Through who our joy ‘gan alight
Upon Christmas night

That I may come to thee,
