This season marks two very exciting collaborations for Lil Lacy.

Lacy is Artist in Residence at Sønderjylland Symphony Orchestra (Danish National Philharmonic Orchestra) and Composer in Residence at Gävle Symphony Orchestra.

After her celebratory ouverture Di drømm dæ bringe vos sammel (The Dreams that bring us together), Lacy was asked to return to Sønderjylland Symphony Orchestra, for an extended collaboration, starting in 2024, until 2027. Music, collaboration, creation and dreams are at the centre of this residency.

Two World Premieres are on the program this season. Fluidity of Matter and Life, a concerto for flute written for the orchestra's own Thomas Jensen on October 2, 2025 and a Symphony on June 11, 2026, a unique portrait concert where all three of the works Lacy has written for the orchestra are programmed.

This journey will result in a podcast, that will follow Lacy and the orchestra in their collaboration.

Composer in Residence at Gävle Symphony Orchestra

This season 2025-2026, Lil Lacy returs to Gävle Symphony Orchestra as Composer in Residence.

After her accordion concerto for Bjarke Mogensen Aliento del mar from 2020 and Aurōra from 2023, a work for orchestra inspired by the Roman goddess of dawn and transformation from night to day, Lacy returns to Sweden to explore new worlds.

On March 20, 2026, the orchestra will present Mountain of Hope, a new work for orchestra about, as the title implies, hope.
They will also perform the Swedish Premiere of the Concerto for Flute Fluidity of Matter and Life on October 10, 2025, with soloist Julia Crowell.

In addition to these exciting premieres, there will be workshops, talks and the exploration of a new multichannel installation.
