Programme Note
Awe-inspiring transformations appear in the twenty-first chapter of Revelation: there is a new heaven and a new earth; the holy city is coming down from heaven; God will dwell with men, and there shall be no more death. These mysterious visions summon up a music more lyrical than dramatic, in which a feeling of wonder pervades.
I saw a new heaven was commissioned by The Gettalife Project, and is dedicated to Reverent Dr Susan Gabriel Talbot.
