This major new Urtext edition of Bizet’s classic opera is a reconstruction of Bizet’s original intentions as indicated in the vocal score he himself prepared in 1864, and with the 2023 revision, the string and vocal parts from the original performance material discovered at the Bibliothèque nationale de France in 2022 allowed for an even more authentic orchestration.
With the original French text and an English translation by David Parry, and supported by complete orchestral material, this is both an authoritative and practical edition.
