I was first attracted to this poem by Lyn Hejinian's deep understanding of music. As I got deeper into the text itself, I was struck by its use of rhetorical figures... And there are the references to Kierkegaard's understanding of repetition. All this, juxtaposed with rupture, provided me with the basis for creating sonic analogues to words that move at the speed of thought.
