Reviews

The three seamless movements move from slow, gentle dreaming to urgent activity and then back to consoling melodic lines, as the horn lines drift over fragile orchestral landscapes, with the large orchestra used very sparingly.

Intimate, between comfort and resignation, silent despair and sublime beauty.
Felix Stefan, Berliner Morgenpost

The horn as an instrument of nature and idyll: In his concert, the Danish composer pays tribute to the very classical image of the horn. [...] A panorama of vastness and tranquility opens up at the beginning, the strings and flageolet hint at dawning distances, plucks of the harp light up like the first stars in the evening, and the block of wood that a percussionist beats meaningfully cracks. And the horn? It sings above it as longingly and brightly as only a horn can: softly muted, with a vision of great adventures, perhaps also with the memory of them.
Clemens Haustein, Berliner Zeitung

A deliberate disorientation that has something sophisticatedly mysterious about it.
