The Academy of St Martin in the Fields celebrate the 70th birthday of Sally Beamish on June 11 in London, with a specially curated concert which includes the UK Premiere of IZAKHI, the basset clarinet concerto with Michael Collins which they co-commissioned. The programme also includes Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 (with Sally Beamish’s Slow Movement) and Seavaigers, her concerto for fiddle and lever harp with soloists Chris Stout and Catriona Mckay.

Sally Beamish’s new album House of Wonder will be released by Delphian Records on June 12. The album explores recent works written by Beamish for herself to play including Crescent and Night Songs, alongside new pieces she has commissioned. The Swaledale Festival celebrates Sally’s birthday and the new album with a birthday concert on June 6.
