A new dance production by choreography duo LEE\VAKULYA featuring the Pulitzer Prize winning orchestral work Become Ocean by John Luther Adams will premiere on February 21 at Staatstheater Darmstadt and later at Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden.
The expansive work unfolds meditatively, evoking the depth and vastness of the sea, and revealing its transformative character.
LEE\VAKULYA explore the unstoppable movement of the tides in their new creation. They are drawn to the graceful balance of nature, which can create both life and destruction. Dance and music alternate between harmony and dissonance, between the gentle, flowing delicacy of water and the intense, rock-splitting tension of ice.
