In February 2026 Bryce Dessner becomes the first ever Composer-in-Residence with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. This is the first time in its 130 seasons that the orchestra has created this role. On February 4, 5 and 6 Dessner, alongside fellow guitarist David Chalmin, will perform St Carolyn by the Sea conducted by the orchestra's Music Director designate, Jakub Hrůša.

Dessner's residency continues on May 6-8 when Music Director Semyon Bychkov conducts a programme including Dessner’s Trembling Earth, his most recent work for cello and orchestra of which the Czech philharmonic is a co-commissioner.
