On December 6, 2025 CAMERATA Chamber Choir will present the World Premiere of The Wallpaper Serenades by Josefine Opsahl, together with the Royal Life Guard Brass Quintet.

Written to celebrate the CAMERATA Chamber Choir's 60th anniversary, The Wallpaper Serenades is about what makes us deeply human.

As a counterpoint to today’s inhuman culture of perfection, performance, and acceleration, to digital alienation and the cold dominance of technology, the work seeks and sketches out a path for how, in the fast, harsh, and digital reality of the Information Age, we can create spaces in which we once again cultivate and nourish profound human values.
- Josefine Opsahl

CAMERATA Chamber Choir describes the concert as follows:

(It) looks into the times that surround human life now - and times to come. Man was created, found strength in each other and conquered the world around him. But in the midst of all the creative urge, omnipotence turns to impotence. What we thought we could control suddenly slips out of our hands, runs amok. Connections between us are shattered and communities are put to the test. This is the human apocalypse as it unfolds at the end of an over-digitized, Anthropocene age.
