Every year in October, the Donaueschinger Musiktage are a highlight for the German contemporary music scene. It’s a weekend full of first performances, and we are very pleased that one of our composers will be represented at the festival again this year.

Mark Andre’s Im Entfalten (Dem Andenken an Pierre Boulez) receives its world premiere in the opening concert on Friday October 17. François-Xavier Roth conducts the SWR Symphony Orchestra and presents the work for large orchestra, which was written on the occasion of Pierre Boulez centenary and aims for a new listening experience by reaching into previously hidden spaces in music and developing a unique sonority from the most fragile particles.

If you want to find out more about Mark Andre’s orchestral works we recommend our feature 'Mark Andre for Orchestra'.
