On June 19, a musical retelling by Fabrice Bollon of the novel ‘Gulliver’s Travels’ by Jonathan Swift will receive its world premiere, performed by Staatskapelle Halle, tuba player and musical cabaret artist Andreas Martin Hofmeir and the composer himself as conductor.
Gullivers weitere Reisen (Gulliver’s further travels) focuses on the lesser-known destinations of Gulliver: a flying island above fertile colonies, an academy full of crazy explorers and a banquet with guests from the underworld.
Bollon composed this work especially for the Bühnen Halle Festival week, celebrating 70 years of puppet theatre in Halle. Two other performances follow on June 20 and 21.
