World premiere of choral epic Beowulf by Iain Bell

A new choral retelling from Iain Bell of the Old English epic poem Beowulf will premiere at London’s Barbican Centre on Friday March 17, 2023.

The 45 minute piece for tenor and large orchestra is commissioned by BBC Radio 3 for the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus and conducted by Martyn Brabbins. Tenor, Stuart Skelton is the soloist and narration is by award-winning actor Ruth Wilson.
