Last week the ARIA Awards provided well deserved recognition for recordings of works by Australian composers and writers.

Wise Music congratulates all ARIA Award nominees and award winners. We are particularly proud to honour the achievements of William Barton, Ross Edwards and Carl Vine.

 

BEST ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK

Award winner: Australian Chamber Orchestra and Richard Tognetti – ‘River (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)’

This album features three works co-composed by William Barton, Richard Tognetti and Piers Burbrook de Vere: Wildness; Ritual; and Spirit Voice of the Enchanted Waters

Last month, this album also won the prestigious APRA Screen Music Award for Best Soundtrack Album.

 

BEST CLASSICAL ALBUM

Award winner: Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Sir Andrew Davis – ‘The Enchanted Loom: Orchestral Works By Carl Vine’

The Enchanted Loom includes Carl Vine’s MicroSymphony, represented by Wise Music.
