Edward Gregson – Clarinet Concerto
A piano reduction for Gregson’s acclaimed Clarinet Concerto, written for and recorded by Michael Collins. The opening section utilises the composer’s hallmark ‘senza tempo’ style of writing, and the whole work swings between the dramatic and the peaceful over a 30 minute time-span.
Stravinsky – Les Noces:
The new Chester Music edition premiered at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, June 21 with members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle. Katia and Marielle Labèque, Thomas Adès and Lars Vogt played the piano parts and the vocal soloists were Martina Jankova, Mark Padmore and John Relyea.
Love Divine: A Collection of Victorian & Edwardian Anthems
Twenty anthems and canticles from that period have been brought together for the first time. Anthems for a wide variety of occasions range from easily accessible four-part harmony and organ to sonorously expressive eight-part writing.
Joby Talbot – Once Around the Sun
This is a collection of solo piano arrangements of the pieces from ‘Once Around the Sun’, Talbot’s musical journey through one year. Jointly commissioned by Classic FM and the PRS Foundation for New Music, this exquisite set of mood pieces was inspired by his personal experiences during those months, acting like a diary of his creativity.
