Dream Catcher is the latest album of Danish composer Poul Ruders. Released in March 2021, Dream Catcher is the 16th volume of Poul Ruders' music by Bridge Records. In February 2022, the album was awarded the P2 Music Award for Album of the Year, New classical.

The album features the world premiere recording of the seven movement Sound and Simplicity (2018), a concerto for accordion and symphony orchestra, performed by Danish accordion virtuoso Bjarke Mogensen and Odense Symfoniorkester, led by Sebastian Lang-Lessing.

The album also includes Mogensen's transcription of Ruders's hypnotic "Dream Catcher" for solo accordion, and the re-issue of Ruders’ Symphony No. 3, subtitled "Dream Catcher”.

I’ve had nothing but compliments for anything I’ve ever heard on CD by Ruders—his music is not only consistently excellent but varied in scope and style—and the opener, Sounds and Simplicity, is no exception.

Today, March 27, is Poul Ruders 72nd birthday and what better way to celebrate this incredible composer than to dive into his newest album!

We at Bridge Records have been privileged to record Poul's music over the decades.  A typical Ruders score combines virtuosity for the ear, with a powerfully beating human heart.  Like the finest composers of the past, Poul's music lifts our spirits while giving us fascinating sounds to enrich our lives.  We salute Poul on his 72nd birthday!
