Edward Gregson may be best known for his glittering orchestral works and music for brass and wind bands, which won him 2019 Ivors Composer Award. This recording of his complete piano works is something altogether different, demonstrating an equally impressive catalogue of works for chamber ensemble and soloists. Gregson weaves a programme full of charisma and personality into this disc and is delivered superbly by notable pianist Murray McLachlan. This recording is released on Naxos and will be their ‘CD of the month’.
