'Lineage (New Laing)' is created by BalletMet Artistic Director and former NYCB Soloist Edwaard Liang, with an orchestral score by Oliver Davis and costumes by fashion icon and designer Anna Sui. Further performances of 'Lineage (New Laing)' will take place in New York in September/October 2019 and May 2020 in New York.

'Arcadia' album release – October 4

Davis’ new album 'Arcadia', which is released on 4 October 2019 on Signum Records, also features music composed for Laing as part of a collaboration for the San Francisco Ballet. 'The Infinite Ocean' received its premiere as part of the 2018 Unbound Festival and was recently seen at Sadler’s Wells. The piece was recorded by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Paul Bateman, with Benjamin Baker as soloist.

Title work Arcadia evokes an idyllic serene place and is performed by Huw Watkins alongside Suite for piano and orchestra, which was written for the pianist. Other featured works include Gemini, a two-movement work for violin and strings written for violinist Kerenza Peacock, Inferno, an anarchic single movement piece for solo violin and orchestra and The Elements, written for The Hanke Brothers for the rare combination of piano, viola, recorder and tuba.
