The Musica Nova Festival in Helsinki (March 1-10, 2002) is featuring the work of Esa Pekka Salonen. A native Finn, Salonen now lives in Los Angeles where he is Music Director of the LA Philharmonic. The Festival will present a comprehensive retrospective of his oeuvre; orchestral works such as Gambit, Giro, Concerto for Saxophone and Orchestra, LA Variations, Foreign Bodies and various ensemble and chamber music works will be performed by the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Avanti!
