Bent Sørensen wins at British Composer Awards
Bent Sørensen has won the International Award at the 2011 British Composere Awards for his work La Mattina.

Critics lauded the "supreme coloured world of sound" (Hamburger Abendblatt) of La Mattina, commissioned by the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra and given its world première in October 2009 with Leif Ove Andnes at the piano. The same pairing then brought this new piano concerto to the BBC Proms in August 2010, causing the Michael Church in The Independent to comment that "Sørensen's voice stands out by virtue of the fact that his goal is a these days unusual quality: beauty."

The award ceremony was broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on Sunday 4th December, and can be listened to online until Sunday 11th by following this link.
