Bent Sørensen: From Ultima to Huddersfield
Danish composer Bent Sørensen has just finished his new accordion concerto, It is pain flowing down slowly on a white wall, written for Frode Haltli, Telemark Chamber Orchestra and Trondheim Soloists. The concerto will be premiered September 10 at the Ultima Festival in Oslo, in Rotterdam at the Giergiev Festival, and at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival.

Bent Sørensen is composer-in-residence at the HCMF in November 2011. Beside the accordion concerto the festival showcases the more experimental side to the composer – including the sound installation The white forest.
