James Whitbourn: Luminosity

James Whitbourn: Luminosity
A new disc devoted to the choral music of James Whitbourn has been released by Naxos.

The recording features the Oxford-based chamber choir Commotio conducted by Matthew Berry and presents a portrait of Whitbourn’s choral music and his distinctive yet accessible musical style.

The works included range from the monumental Magnificat written for King’s College, Cambridge, to Luminosity, a large-scale work for chorus and instruments which fuses Indian and Western traditions.

Listen to an interview with James Whitbourn on the NAXOS blog.
