YouTube Symphony Orchestra
YouTube invited musicians from around the world to audition for the YouTube Symphony Orchestra. The video entries will be combined into the first ever collaborative virtual performance, and the world will select the best to perform at New York City's Carnegie Hall.

Between December 1, 2008 through January 28, 2009, musicians from around the world submitted a video showcasing their personal style performing their interpretation of Tan Dun’s Internet Symphony No. 1 ‘Eroica’ and a talent video designed to demonstrate their musical and technical abilities. A panel of music experts will narrow the field to semifinalists who then will be chosen by the YouTube community between February 14 and February 22. The winners will be announced on March 2, 2009. The performance will be held at Carnegie Hall on April 15, 2009.

"YouTube is the biggest stage on earth," Tan Dun comments, "and I want to see what the world’s undiscovered musical geniuses will create on it." Please go to www.youtube.com/symphony for more information.
