Martin Grubinger, percussion wunderkind and commissioner of Avner Dorman’s percussion concerto, Frozen in Time, will delight audiences with a smashing performance of the work in Vienna on 20 February when he performs Dorman’s concerto with Hugh Wolff leading the Radio Symphonie Orchester Wien (RSO). This performance marks Dorman’s debut at the storied Musikverein, one of many debuts for the young composer this spring. In March, Dorman will be honored with his New York Philharmonic debut when Zubin Mehta leads the Israeli percussion duo PercaDu in the US premiere of his duo percussion concerto, Spices, Perfumes, Toxins!, Dorman's concerto for two percussionists and Orchestra.
