It seems with each new performance of the percussion concerto Frozen in Time, Avner Dorman’s international status is reasserted. This November 15, percussionist Martin Grubinger, for whom the piece was written, will dazzle the audiences of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta with conductor Chien Wen-Pin on a program which features Frozen in Time. The concerto has now been heard by enthusiastic audiences in Hamburg, Munich, Lübeck, Valladolid, Madrid and at the Schleschweig Holstein Festival and future engagements include performances in Vienna, Monte Carlo and Den Hague.

On US soil, you can hear Dorman’s duo percussion concerto Spices, Perfumes, Toxins! with Zubin Mehta and the New York Philharmonic in March.
