        Programme Note

        African Sketchbook for wind quintet (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn) and vocal quartet (Soprano, Mezzo-soprano, Baritone, Bass).

        The words of African Sketchbook are taken from a selection of Khoekhoe poems included in the Pengiun Book of South African Verse (ed. Jack Cope and Uys Krige). The movements are as follows:
