Programme Note
Composer note
Uncanny Valley takes its title from the eerie feeling that arises when artificial beings become extremely lifelike and intelligent, yet still remain discernibly unhuman. This percussion concerto is a musical exploration of that unsettling phenomenon as we grapple with advanced AI systems that can seamlessly mimic human activities like music creation. As the orchestral and electronic forces intermingle, the line between the human and artificial increasingly blurs, prompting an emotional reckoning with technology's encroachment into our most intimate creative spaces.
