Gardenia (2018)
(for Solo Violin)

This short violin solo was composed in memory of Dorothy Kathleen Greenbaum (Brusey): 12 February 1929 – 13 November 2018. Fondly known as Doff, she was a keen horticulturalist and environmentalist. One of her favourite plants was a Gardenia shrub, given by a friend. It has very lovely, scented white flowers. The solo was performed at her funeral service by Marianne Rothschild on 22 November 2018, Victoria Funerals, Brunswick.
