Programme Note

Version for orchestra available: Resil I (orchestra).

RESIL I is a 10-minute orchestral piece composed in two versions — one for full symphony orchestra and one for chamber orchestra. Inspired by Carl Folke’s concept of panarchy, RESIL I evokes systems in flux: fragments evolve, disintegrate, and reform into new constellations.

Rather than a linear narrative, the piece offers a visceral sonic experience of resilience. Shimmering overtones, microtonal textures, and mechanical pulses collapse and reassemble into lyrical gestures and harmonic fields. It is a work that demands — and trains — attentiveness, as musical focus shifts continually between styles and listening modes.
