Programme Note
This work deals with the theme of the ephemeral, the revelation of the most fragile, innermost, perhaps most intense phenomenological, compositional periods of time.
On the one hand, it refers to the eleventh book of St Augustine's ‘Confessions’: ‘The past is not honourable, the future not yet.’
On the other hand, it refers above all to the presence of the Holy Spirit mentioned in John's questionnaire, 3:8: ‘The wind blows where it wills, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.’
